The Studio 49 BXG 1000 bass xylophone has Grillodur bars measuring 32 x 14
mm. Grillodur is a highly refined fiberglass material which offers high impact strength as
well as resistance to changes in temperature and humidity, making it highly stable over time and in a variety of climates. The BXG 1000 weighs only 17
pounds, and measures 27 x 15 x 14 inches. This is somewhat smaller than a standard bass xylophone. The pitch range is c-a1 with c1 being
middle
C. The resonator box is made of pine, and has multiple resonance chambers for
excellent sound quality. We particularly like the consistent sonority of this instrument throughout its range, and the generous handles which are incorporated into the design of the top plate.
Each instrument comes with f-sharp and b-flat bars
and a pair of CS7 mallets.
