The second volume of Recorders without Borders features a repertory that
ranges from dances of Medieval and Renaissance Europe to songs from the
Caribbean, Africa, South America, Asia and the Balkans. These pieces are intended
for beginning to intermediate recorder players, and only the notes of one octave
(from low d to middle d) are used. The CD that accompanies the book is
intended to provide an idea of what the pieces sound like and is also useful as
a play-along tool. Each tune has four musical tracks. The first is a performance of
the piece with all the parts, the second has the percussion parts only, the third has
percussion and second recorder parts, and the third has the percussion and first
