Sonor Primary Line instruments were completely
re-designed in 2010, for sound optimization, and environmental
stewardship.
They are the first Orff instruments to be FSC certified. This ensures eco-
friendly production and sustainable harvesting of all wood used.
The SMP 1.1 soprano metallophone has metal alloy
sound
bars measuring 35 x 5 mm. The bars are thinner than those of the SKM
10,
and feature the note name and staff notation printed in the center of each
bar. The pitch range is c2-a3 diatonic, with c1 being middle C. All
Sonor instruments include
f-sharp and b-flat bars. The resonator
box is
made of FSC birch plywood with a single chamber. It includes brackets
for
use with accessory legs or the Basis Trolley system. The SMP 1.1 comes
with
one pair of SCH 5 mallets, and coordinates with chromatic extension SMP
2.1.
