This collection contains 43 pieces for 1-6 recorders from the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque periods, as well as 4 pieces of 20th century music. Steve Rosenberg commissioned the 4 contemporary pieces from Ross Edwards, John Rimmer, Peter Sculthorpe and Gillian Whitehead to give players moving toward an intermediate level the chance to sample music of our own time.
Early composers represented in this book include Michael Praetorius, Anthony Holborne, Giles Farnaby, William Brade, J.B.Loeillet, Jacques Hotteterre, J.S. Bach, Nicholas Chedeville, and J.B. de Boismortier. You will also find several anonymous songs and dances from the 13th and 14th centuries, dance music published by Tielman Susato, and music from the court of Henry VIII.
Includes a fingering chart for soprano, alto, tenor, and bass recorders.
