The Studio 49 BM 1600 bass metallophone with
harmonic
overtone tuning has aluminum sound bars measuring 36 x 10 mm for the lower
bars and 32 x 8 mm for the upper bars. The pitch range is c-a1 diatonic,
with c1 being middle C. Each instrument comes with f-sharp and b-flat bars,
and
one pair of S 33 mallets.
The resonator box of the BM 1600 is smaller than any of
the other bass metallophones, as it was designed for convenience in
transportation and storage. It is made of pine, and has multiple
resonance
chambers for excellent sound quality. Handles are incorporated into the
design of the instrument for carrying ease. The BM 1600 coordinates with
chromatic extension H-BM 1600.
