Dawn Eaton Muir, a Canadian music educator of Jamaican parentage, was inspired to make a contribution to sustaining the cultural heritage of her father's country of origin, and these traditional children’s songs and games are being published both for contemporary audiences and for the sake of posterity. They were collected with the help of Marjorie Whylie, the highly respected ethnomusicologist, jazz musician, and master drummer, with her incomparable breadth of performance skills and wealth of knowledge about Jamaica’s cultural heritage.
