This collection of 38 children’s songs, games and chants from Israel is the latest publication in The OAKE Collection (Organization of American Kodály Educators). Dr. Rita Klinger collected and transcribed these songs during the 1980s from Israeli children and their parents. Martha Holmes, Rita’s close friend and editor, added some songs of her own to the collection. All of the songs are presented in Hebrew with English translations and transliterations. The contents of the book are categorized by type and include finger plays/chants, clapping games, jump rope/ball-bouncing chants, game songs and dances, and songs of childhood.
