This new collection from Doug Edwards contains 10 arrangements of well-known
Irish tunes including polkas, strathspeys, jigs, slip jigs, hornpipes, and reels
designed for mallet percussion ensemble. Each arrangement includes a melody
line that can be played either on a soprano or alto marimba or xylophone, or on a
recorder or other treble instrument. Five accompaniment lines are provided for
soprano through bass barred instruments. All of the arrangements include
teaching tips,
performance suggestions, and background information on the form and history of
the tunes. The accompanying CD contains both recordings of each
arrangement and digital files that include scores and reproducible worksheets.
